Brian Davison

Biography

Brian Davison has been winter climbing for some 30 years and has notched up an impressive list of first ascents in Scotland, Wales and the Lake District. These include Big Daddy (VIII, 8) in Coire Sneachda, Mort (IX, 9) at Lochnagar, and Moss Gill Grooves (V, 6), Harvest (VII, 9) and Mechanical Orange (VIII, 8) all on Scafell. He has also made many expeditions overseas to such diverse areas as the Himalayas, Morocco, Greenland, Alaska and South Georgia. His intimate knowledge of the Lake District has further been enhanced by endurance feats such as completing an unsupported Bob Graham Round, and climbing all the Lakes’ routes in Classic Rock in a day without use of a vehicle. He lives in Lancaster with his family and is a researcher at Lancaster University.
