Christopher Mitchell
Biography
Christopher Mitchell was born in Bridlington in 1949. He studied at the University of Hull, where he obtained an honours degree in Zoology and Psychology and was awarded an MSc for his research on insect behaviour. He has worked as an Assistant Warden at Eskdale Youth Hostel and as an Assistant Instructor at the Eskdale Outward Bound Mountain School. In 1979 he founded and directed the first private Field Study Centre on the Isle of Skye, where he has been leading field groups for over 20 years. Since 1990, he has been employed as an Auxiliary Weather Reporter for the Meteorological Office. He is married with two children.
