David Woodthorpe
Biography
Journalist and writer David Woodthorpe was born in Newton Abbot. After schooling in Newton Abbot and Exeter he went to university before working in industry in the Midlands. Finding the pleasures of the packaging world strictly limited- and finding himself out of work- he managed to combine his twin passions for writing and walking through supplying a regular walks column to the Express and Echo newspaper, Exeter, between 1991 and 1992.

After a second spell at university this time conducting research, he returned to Devon and joined the Herald Express newspaper, where he currently works as a reporter and music editor. He lives in South Devon.
