The road to Bethlehem

December 16th, 2008 in Book Catalogue by Sarah

BBC correspondent Aleem Maqbool is currently making a nine day trip retracing the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem made by Joseph and Mary about 2000 years ago.

Walks in PalestineAleem started the trip, accompanied by a donkey on Monday 15th December, and plans to arrive in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve. Aleem has a copy of the Cicerone guide Walks in Palestine by Di Taylor and Tony Howard, although his route varies slightly from the Nativity Trail in the guide – he is aiming for as close as a straight line as he can get – though he anticipates certain obstacles along the way.

Aleem is keeping an online video and diary on the BBC website – find out more>>

Walks in Palestine is currently out of print. You can download the introduction pages from the guide here (308kb), or The Nativity Trail information here (1.1mb). We also have a few copies available at the Cicerone office – don’t hesitate to get in touch on 01539 562069 or email us for any further information.
