Cicerone Competitions
Navigation Competition
As always, here is the area of our website that gives you the opportunity to get your hands on a great bunch of prizes. We’ve got a navigation theme going on this time around, so the lucky winners will never be lost again.* The current prize pot contributors are 3-time Cicerone author Pete Hawkins, Ultralight Outdoor Gear, Silva Compasses, and of course, ourselves.
*Cicerone cannot guarantee your navigational prowess after winning this competition. But it will at least help...

Set in the beautiful Peak District village of Tideswell, the courses are practical and expertly led; Pete has been teaching the courses for 25 years.
Ultralight Outdoor Gear
As their name suggests, Ultralight Outdoor Gear are only interested in supplying lightweight, functional, best quality gear that supports the concept of backpacking unhindered by traditional heavy loads and masses of equipment. The GoLite Quest rucksack is best-selling, fully-featured and has been overhauled to provide an optimum balance of comfort and stability with the added flexibility of customisable torso length.
Silva Expedition 4 Compass
The Silva Expedition series of compasses are specially designed to simplify map work. With its scale markings for measuring co-ordinates and built in magnifier this compass is also equipped with luminous markings in the housing, on the needle and on the baseplate, aiding navigation in the dark. Additionally rubber grips on the base plate ensure it stays secure when placed on a map.
