Why does it take so long to get a guide from a shop when I order it specially?

It shouldn’t take long, but it feels as though it does. For a book ordered specially, the store will either order it from us directly or from its wholesaler. Usually the wholesaler will have the book in stock.

So the order is sent today, it arrives tomorrow morning, the book is picked that day or the day after, is sent by carrier, and should arrive the next day (but may take a day longer). The bookstore has to unpack it, identify that it is for the customer and get in touch. No wonder it sometimes takes about a week; but even with the best possible wind behind the process, it’s going to take 3 days.
