Why are you using extracts from Ordnance Survey maps in UK guides?
There are several reasons. Firstly they are the most familiar maps of the UK – we were all taught about them in school. Secondly, the extracts show the route details, but not the broader picture, so our extract of the detail should help in figuring out where you are on the sheet map. Thirdly, and least important, they are reasonably cost-effective for us to use.
