Central Switzerland by Jeremy O.Talbot (West Col Productions, Goring, 1969) covers the region contained within an area bounded by the Susten, Grimsel and Furka Passes, and the Reuss valley.

3: Walking
Alpine Pass Route by Kev Reynolds (Cicerone Press, Milnthorpe, 1990) is a guide to the classic long-distance walk which traverses country covered by the present guidebook, and Classic Walks in the Alps by Kev Reynolds (Oxford Illustrated Press, Sparkford, 1991) also includes an account of that walk.
Footloose in the Swiss Alps by William Reifsnyder (Sierra Club, San Francisco, 1979 - 2nd edition) includes details of a long walk which passes through the region from Engstlenalp to the Muotatal.
4: Mountain Flowers
The Alpine Flowers of Britain and Europe by Christopher Grey-Wilson and Marjorie Blamey (Collins, London, 1979) is a very useful pocket identification book.
Mountain Flowers by Anthony Huxley (Blandford Press, London, 1967) is another fine book to help identify species found in the areas covered by this guide. Illustrations are by Daphne Barry and Mary Grierson.
