Route 12 Amendment

Due to a recent change in the colour-coding of the cycling routes marked out in the Grizedale Forest, cyclists following route 12 should ignore all references to colour-coded routes.

From the visitor centre, enter the forest as described, and follow signs to Moor Top and High Cross. High Cross is where your route finishes.

The map shows the layout of the forest tracks in more detail, and for 2001 the route you should follow is the GREEN route, as far as High Cross.

Cyclists using this route after 2001 should check with the visitor centre 01229 860373/4/5 or Cicerone Press to be sure to follow a reliable route back to High Cross.

Please note also that the correct telephone number for M & P Cycles in Staveley is: 01539 822884.

Route 13

Parking - The ride starts from Barbon village, adequate parking can be found at the Village Hall, and not on the roadside near the War Memorial as quoted
