The maps included in this guidebook are extracted from the 1:50,000 Ordnance Survey Landranger Series. They run from page to page to cover the whole of the South West Coast Path in strip form. If you wish to see the greater picture - more of the Coast Path at a glance, as well as further inland - then a dozen Landranger sheets cover the entire route: 180, 181, 190, 192, 193, 194, 195, 200, 201, 202, 203 & 204. If you are in the habit of posting completed maps home at intervals, note that you need to refer to sheet 200 twice as its coverage runs from coast to coast!
For more detail, use the 1:25,000 Explorer Series. For full coverage of the South West Coast Path you need 16 Explorer sheets: 102, 103, 104,
105, 106, 107, 108, 110, 111, 115, 116, 126, 139, OL9, OL15 & OL20.
The appropriate Landranger and Explorer sheets are quoted for each of the daily stages in this guidebook. To see practically the whole of the South West Coast Path on a single map, refer to the Ordnance Survey Road Map sheet 7. This could be a useful overall planning map, if you are walking the whole trail at once. OS maps are available from most good bookshops, or can be ordered online from www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk. Harvey Maps (www.harveymaps. co.uk) covers the South West Coast Path in six waterproof sheets, at a scale of 1:40,000, as part of their National Trail series.
