There is a direct shuttle bus service from Grenoble airport to Grenoble city centre (bus station next to the railway station). A one-way ticket cost €4 at the beginning of 2006. For further details, go to www.grenoble-airport.com/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=53. You can also get information by phoning 0476879031 (Transisère bus company) or 0476654848 (airport information) or by sending an e-mail to info@grenoble-airport.com.

An increasing number of airlines offer services to Grenoble and Chambéry airports, although many only operate during the ski season (December to late March/mid April). For an airline/destination guide and price comparisons, go to www.skyscanners.net.

On 1st January 2006, France Telecom lost its monopoly on directory enquiries services. Now, a multitude of operators offer information services, most of which cost around €1 per call. All these information numbers begin with 118. The "most complete" service is considered to be 118 711. Other numbers include 118 008, 118 218, 118 007 and 118 000.

The cafe at the highest point on the road overlooking Lake Bourget has now closed and been demolished. A lay-by has been built at the viewpoint.

In the summer of 2006, the "Le Bourget-du-Lac Le Port" tourist office (beside the lake and opposite the hotel "Calypso") was replaced by a small snack bar, with public toilets behind it. Now, the only tourist information provided here is on a large sign in front of the snack bar, which includes a useful map of the village of Le Bourget-du-Lac. The directions into and out of Le Bourget-du-Lac are from this snack bar and not from the main tourist office in the centre of "Le Bourget-du-Lac" village.

The shop and hotel in Le Rivier d'Allemond have closed. Now the only option for buying refreshments is the wonderfully friendly little cafe at the entrance to the village (going uphill).
