‘The eighth edition of The UK Trailwalker’s Handbook is out now. Walkers and backpackers have long found the information contained in this vital work of reference indispensable.

'This is a beautifully produced and well-written book, which aims to include UK routes that have a name, that are mainly off-road and on public rights of way and that offer more than one day’s walking. Some 720 main trails and around 190 shorter routes, which have some form of free or low cost publication available providing at least a basic route description.
The book also offers some other fascinating information, such as the number of trails with a waymark logo – some 264 of them. All in all an excellent book, which will provide an ideal directory and reference book for walkers.'
(South West Coast Path association, Spring 2010)
'This handbook certainly provides an excellent summary to trails in the UK, all of which are now easily reached by trail-walking enthusiasts.'
(Irish Mountain Log, Summer 2010)
'This is a very attractively printed and produced book. The UK has a network of long-distance trails unrivalled anywhere in the world, currently covering 60,000 miles of footpaths and growing steadily.
Millions of people walk along them every year – some walking a complete route, some walking a stretch on holiday, at week ends or even as part of their daily commute. But where are these trails and what are they like? How do you find one that suits you and fits the time you have available?
These questions and many more are answered in this eighth edition of the UK Trailwalker’s Handbook. A friend of mine who walked a large number of these lengthy trails has been impressed by the meticulous updating which has been included in this edition.'
