Mountaineering
Most of the guides which appear in this section include elements of mountaineering. They may be ascents of high ‘trekking’ peaks, or guides to wild mountain ranges such as the Tatras or the Ala Dag in Turkey, where there are fewer paths, fewer people, and very remote and technically challenging ground. Mountaineering expeditions always require a higher level of mountain awareness and ability and the use of technical equipment.
