Cicerone is the leading specialist publisher of guidebooks for walkers, trekkers, mountaineers and cyclists.

Based in Milnthorpe, just south of Kendal, we are a small team who work with authors, printers, distributors and individuals all around the world.

We are looking for an energetic and flexible person to join our sales and marketing team. It’s a varied and interesting role which may cover a number of the following aspects:

eBook and digital development
Social media, blogging and e-newsletters
Book launches, publicity and marketing
Online marketing and brand development
SEO
Market research
Working with our trade customers
Event organisation
Reporting and general administration

The team here at Cicerone concentrates on our publishing and marketing activities, working closely with our readers, as well as authors and specialist outdoor organisations.

We think it’s very important that you love the outdoors and have familiarity with what we do. You will also need to be highly organised, enjoy working on your own initiative and as part of a small friendly team, with good all round written and verbal communication skills.

It’s a highly computerised environment, so being confident with programmes such as Word and Excel is crucial.
