Mountaineering

Mountaineering can involve a range of walking, hiking and/or climbing up mountainous areas, where the terrain often consists of rocky ground as well as snow-covered or icy ranges. This technically challenging ground will often take you to very remote places with no other people in sight!

Experience and skills are needed, as these dramatic conditions may present hazards from high altitude to possible avalanches. Mountaineering expeditions may also require the use of technical equipment.
