Winter Climbing

A huge contrast to what the mountains provide for us in the summer, the winter months bring snow and ice-covered routes, a challenge for even the most experienced climber, yet an unforgettable experience.

There are many disagreements as to the true meaning of a winter climb, whether it’s simply an ascent in the cold, or one that demands the use of axes and crampons.

Whichever definition you may agree with, it is equally important that you are equipped both physically and mentally, as the conditions you find yourself in may present dangerous risks.
