Join Mike Wells at Stanfords for a talk about Cycling the Camino de Santiago. Mike will share some advice and guidance about this fantastic trip crossing Northern Spain. Tickets are £4 and include a glass of wine or a soft drink.
Join us at Stanfords to hear Mike Wells talk about his experiences Cycling the Camino Francés; crossing Northern Spain from the Pyrenees to Santiago in Galicia.
Stretching for nearly 800km across northern Spain, the Camino de Santiago is Europe’s most popular long distance walking and cycling route. While preparing his new Cicerone guidebook about cycling the Camino Francés from St Jean-Pied-de-Port in the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia Mike Wells cycled the route three times last year.
As well as riding the off-road route favoured by walkers which is suitable for mountain and cross-trail bikes, he also followed a route on quiet country roads ideal for cyclists on touring or road bikes.
He will describe the preparation needed for such a journey and his experiences following Europe’s most historic trail.
