You can generally enjoy walking in all areas of Britian in the winter months, but remember that the weather can be at best more unpredictable, and in mountain areas, can often create life-threatening conditions without the right knowledge, experience and equipment. Wrap up warm, take hot drinks and plenty of spare clothes. Follow the advice in our safety leaflets for The Lake District, Scotland and the rest of the UK.
