Travel Writing Competition

Stop press!

How would you like an all-expenses-paid trip to the Umbria region of Italy - and a published travel feature for your growing cuttings portfolio?

We’re offering one lucky winner the opportunity to join a press trip to Italy in 2016, courtesy of the Umbria Tourist Board.

For a chance to win, you’ll need to show your excellent interviewing and writing skills to produce a 500-word story on the launch of a new guidebook, The Way of St Francis, at Foyles bookshop, Charing Cross Road, London, on November 5, 2015, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

You’ll have the chance to interview author Reverend Sandy Brown, publishers Cicerone, and officials from Umbria Tourist Board, about the book which combines religion, travel, culture and art.

The winner will secure their place on an all-expenses paid press trip to Umbria in 2016, where they’ll sample the delights of the region for themselves and get to write a travel feature on behalf of the Umbrian Tourist Board. The winning article will also be published in Cicerone's online magazine, Cicerone Extra.
