Away from the resorts of the Algarve, Portugal is crossed with many paths, tracks and pilgrim routes, exploring the mountains and spectacular Atlantic coast. You could walk along the coast following the Camino Portugues from Porto to Santiago, or, for wonderful walking conditions between September and April, Madeira and the Azores can provide a more exotic landscape through which to roam.
