Mike Laing is based in Snowdonia, North Wales. His professional life has been split between the military and as a freelance freelance mountaineering instructor. He has worked, travelled, climbed, cycled, rowed and trekked extensively in Greenland, South America, west and east Africa, Cuba, Europe and the Himalaya. His favourite travel destinations include Mauritania, Ethiopia, Lebanon and Uzbekistan.
