Stage 6, page 91

The Madonna visited just after Rifugio Oberto Gaspare is passed is not on the summit of Monte Moro at 2984m as stated, but at 2890m, which is therefore the highpoint of the stage. The altitude is misprinted in the description, in the introductory box of summary information on page 90 and in the profile at the top of page 91.

Updates, August 2009

Stage 2, pages 91 and 94

The trail has changed from below Alpe Mase. The route as described in the book still  exists and is to be taken if going down to St Jacques. But if going to Resy there is a new trail that stays at altitude and avoids the descent to Fiery. This avoids about 150 to 200m climb at the end of the day. It goes left from the Alpe Mase valley and is really well signed as it was new last year. It is well-marked and easy to follow.

Stage 8, the Europaweg, pages 143 to 152

The path south of the Europahütte where it becomes unstable and subject to rock fall has been closed since 2006. The signs now divert you down to above Randa before re-ascending to the path. You can download a complete and up-to-date route description for Stage 8 as a pdf file by clicking here.
