Just ask Theresa May...

We were intrigued and impressed to hear that Theresa May presented Angela Merkel with a copy of Cicerone’s guide to Great Mountain Days in Snowdonia by Terry Marsh. Amongst the best of British as well as the very best of Wales.

We had heard that Theresa May was a keen walker and we know that Angela Merkel is as well. Snowdonia is a great choice and if Mrs Merkel can fit the trip in we would be delighted to help ensure she had a great visit.

She should have bought direct as we've got a sale on!

Cicerone publishes 350 guides for walkers, trekkers and cyclists all over the world from our base near the Lake District – half of these are to Europe, especially the Alps and most of the rest are to British treks and mountains.

As Theresa May and Angela Merkel guide Britain and Germany (and indeed Europe) through the challenges they face, we look to them finding ways to build on the open and free interactions that have brought pleasure to so many walkers and trekkers as they explore each others’ countries.

Need a gift for another world leader?

We reckon Nicola Sturgeon would enjoy The West Highland Way or The Cape Wrath Trail. Maybe the Obamas could have a go at the John Muir Trail and the Pope may like the Torres del Paine.
