This month we are celebrating all the freebies Cicerone has for you. From free walking routes to gpx files and author interviews to skills sessions - there's a lot to explore on the Cicerone website and you don't have to spend a penny (although we'd love it if you did).
Free walking routes
There is a free route available for every book - just scroll down to the downloads section on a book page to get a free pdf. Some of the introduction is included as well as the first walk so you can see what the book is going to be like. You could even try the walk before you buy the whole book! Perfect if you're buying a gift or trying something new.

More informationFree GPX files
Cicerone offers GPX files for many of our books and they can be very useful, if you know how to use them. The GPX files are not a map but they will show your exact route line on a digital map - as long as you have the relevant maps available. This can be a huge navigation help as most Cicerone routes will not be displayed on standard maps and following paths can be tricky in areas with lots of footpaths or trails.
We are doing our best to increase the number of GPX files we offer but, in the same way that some customers can find them tricky to use, they can sometimes pose a challenge to our authors.
GPX files can be found in the download section for each book. You must be logged into your Cicerone account to download them and, if you bought your guidebook from another retailer, you will need to add your book to your account. This is free of charge and just takes a couple of clicks.
Top tip: Use the GPX files with Strava to keep a record of your route and share with friends.
Free Live Events
We run a monthly live event but don't worry if you can't make it - you can catch up on our YouTube channel. Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss new videos.
Free updates
We do our best to keep our guidebooks as up to date as possible but, if things change, we will post an update on the book page. To make it easier, you can choose to get these updates by email so you don't have to keep checking the website. Just head to your account to request email updates for all books, or just the books you choose.
Top tip: If you've done a walk and notice a change please send us your comments. It really helps!
