Why does my bookshop tell me a guide is not available and then it turns out that it is?
This was a problem a few years ago but is much less of an issue now.
The book industry is now based around a few centralised databases that have up-to-date and accurate records on titles and their availability. So any store should be able to get accurate records on titles at any time. We update these databases every day with changes to availability on our guides.
