From the ninety walks featured in his original three-book series of ‘Walks in the Yorkshire Dales’ (published 1989–91 and now out of print), Jack Keighley has selected, revised and updated his fifty favourites.

All the walks are circular, and range from 4½ to 7¾ miles. They have been chosen to appeal to all tastes, and vary from simple valley strolls (ideal as half-day ‘family rambles’) to strenuous fell expeditions.

Hand-written and profusely illustrated in Jack’s unique and highly distinctive style, each chapter contains

  • a general description of the terrain
  • notes on features of interest
