Seasons
All year round except for midsummer when it can get a bit hot. Spring brings divine shades of green, late summer means the grape harvest, while in autumn the vegetation assumes lovely russet hues. Winter can be divine with crisp conditions and superb visibility.
Centres
Valdobbiadene, Vidor, Col San Martino, Pieve di Soligo, Follina, Conegliano, Vittorio Veneto. All can be reached by public transport.
Difficulty
The walks range from easy and straightforward to average, with nothing of great difficulty for fit walkers. Shoes with a good grip are recommended for the hilly paths, as is layered clothing. Trekking poles can also be handy.
Must See
A mosaic of terraced Prosecco vineyards amidst woodland, a unique landscape moulded by man and nature over centuries. Castles and medieval churches testify to ancient settlements, as do manmade channels powering local silk and wool mills.
