From a hand-printed, 40-page guide to the Northern Lake District, to a family-run publisher with a library spanning mountains, valleys, and coastlines across the globe, Cicerone has always been driven by trust, care, improvement, and a love of the outdoors.
Our guidebooks have helped walkers, trekkers, climbers, and cyclists explore with confidence, offering routes and insights from expert authors who know and love each area. Each guide is the result of countless hours spent exploring and researching, capturing not just directions but the essence of a place, its terrain, landmarks, and hidden details. That dedication has been passed down through generations, from the founders to the family who took over in 1999, and now to the current team, continuing to bring trusted guidance to explorers worldwide.

When browsing a guidebook on our website, look for the ‘In-App’ format option on the book’s product page to see if it’s currently available in the app. If you don’t see it yet, it’s likely on our roadmap, and we’re working hard to bring more of your favourite routes into the app experience.

Important: App access and GPX files are separate products. Buying app access gives you the guidebook content inside the Cicerone app. GPX files are downloaded separately and are used in your own GPS or mapping apps. GPX files cannot be viewed within the Cicerone app.
