June to October. There may be snow high up May and into June, and refuges close in mid-September.

Centres

Access through France and Geneva. Bases include Salève and the Vallée Verte, Thonon, Evian, Adondance, Morzine and Bellevaux.

Difficulty

Half- to full-day, mid-level alpine walking. Some exciting bits, but suitable if you are uncertain about walking in the Alps.

Must See

Views of Lac Leman (Geneva), distant Mont Blanc and the Dents de Midi. Ibex and alpine flowers.

These maps can be bought locally and sometimes the local French supermarkets sell them cheaper. Maps are more expensive if bought in Geneva.
