Seasons

Spring is best, high summer perhaps too hot for strenuous walking. Winter walking is fine, but it Read More... can be rainy and (even!) a little cold.

Centres

It's not a big island (similar to the Isle of Wight) so anywhere will be fine, it depends more on Read More... the sort of evenings you want.

Difficulty

Half- and full-day walks, usually easy, but with some longer stretches along the clifftops.

The Maltese Islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino bask in sunshine at the heart of the Mediterranean, between Europe and Africa. History has ensured that the islands have been colonised time and time again, leaving them with a colourful and complex history and heritage. The islands are a popular tourist destination. They offer plenty of historic walks, stunningly beautiful and dramatic architecture, and a good amount of excellent scenery, especially around the cliffs and coastlines.

The guide offers 33 walks round the three islands. They range from heritage trails round historic cities and towns to coastal walks, and also include the exploration of inland areas.
